Carbon-based nanohybrid fabricated in-situ and boosted the adsorption of anionic reactive yellow dye

Abstract The purpose of this research is to report a unique manipulation producing carbon nanotubes/carbon xerogel (CNTs/CX) hybrid loaded with bimetallic catalysts Fe–Ni via one-step chemical vapor deposition (CVD) camphor. Active were formed during carbonization resorcinol–formaldehyde at 800 °C form (CX); meanwhile, the gas was librated from camphor 220 for 45 min. CX and CNTs/CX samples analyzed using measurements transmission electron microscope (TEM), X-ray diffraction tool (XRD) Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). Further, liquid-phase adsorption reactive yellow 160 (RY160) dye on thermodynamic studies investigated. TEM XRD results revealed formation nodules in combined bundles CNTs having outer diameters ranged 40 80 nm CNTs/CX. Adsorption RY160 highly relied pH, temperature, initial concentration contact time. Through kinetic modeling, pseudo-second-order model expressed closely experimental data adsorption. Equilibrium declared that Freundlich better due it has heterogeneous surface character resulting combination CNTs. Langmuir capacity (q L , mg/g) values exhibited sample have superior which reached 167 mg/g than by = 125 mg/g). Thereof, produced present higher removal can be employed successfully textile wastewater.
